Yvonne Gazaway, 92, of Derby, Kansas died at 3:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2024, at Copperstone Retirement of Derby in Derby, Kansas.
Yvonne was born April 20, 1932, at Arcadia, Kansas the daughter of Ray and Helen Burch Watt. She was raised in Arcadia and graduated from Arcadia High School with the Class of 1950. She married Edward L. Gazaway on April 8, 1955 at the Arcadia Christian Church. The moved to Wichita, Kansas and raised two sons, Michael and Kevin. She lived in Wichita for most of her life before moving to Derby, Kansas. Her husband Edward died on Oct. 18, 2015. Her son Kevin died on Dec. 13, 2017. Survivors include a son, Michael (Renée) Gazaway of Derby, Kansas, two sisters, Sandra Nuzum of Derby and Linda Roweth of Uniontown, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Gazaway of Wichita, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, son Kevin, and two brothers, Delton and Vernon Watt.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Rev. James Sukraw officiating. Burial will be at the Large Cemetery at Cato, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Bedene Chapel prior to the funeral services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E.
