Kathrine Elizabeth Vogel, 76, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Sept. 15, 2024. Kathy was born on February 10, 1948, to Ray and Hattie Elizabeth (Owen) Karr in Harrison, Arkansas. She married Francis Joseph Vogel on April 11, 1969. He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2012. Kathy grew up in Farlington and graduated from Girard High School. Kathy was a homemaker; enjoyed crafts, sewing and household projects.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Vogel and his wife, Amy of Pittsburg, KS, and Jesse Vogel of Pittsburg, KS; two daughters, Ginger Bevans of St. Paul, KS, and Nancy Renfro and her husband, Daniel of Cherokee; two brothers, John Karr of Baxter Springs, KS, and James Karr of Asbury, Mo; five sisters, Laura Green of Pittsburg, KS, Sue Hollis of Shellknob, Mo, Jeanette Baldwin of Hopkinsville, KY, Callie Robinson of Redfield, KS, and Grace Carey of Lynn Valley Lakes, KS; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren.
On Sept. 21 at 11 a.m., the family will have a graveside memorial service, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband Frank. After the ceremony at Cherokee Cemetery 515 E. Ave., the family will host a celebration of life at the Cherokee Senior Center for family and friends, with lunch provided.
