After eight years of saving and applying for grants, the board of trustees of Miners Hall Museum announced Friday they had received enough money to relocate a historic mining machine, a Page 618 Walking Dragline, to the northeast corner of highways US-69 and K-47, also known as Ginardi’s corner, just south of the museum.   more

The panel consisted of Max McCoy, a Kansas historian and journalist who has researched and written several articles about the family; Carol Staton and Mike Wood, curators of the Cherryvale Museum; and Bob Miller, current owner of the Bender property.  more

Clayton Bammer and Ken Yoacum, training coordinator and deputy coroner from Crawford County EMS, gave presentations Wednesday and Thursday on emergency service careers and what is required to pursue those careers.  more

Jordan Metcalf only filed his candidacy for the Kansas House of Representatives Third District seat early last week. With the general election only a little more than a week away, Metcalf admits his write-in campaign to defeat incumbent Republican Chuck Smith will be an uphill battle.  more
