Fun Zone Depot employee and Pittsburg High School student Mia Conrad glides down the slip & slide at the ‘Fun Zone Summer Splash’ held on Wednesday, which also featured water balloons, musical chairs and dodgeball. The event, located at 104 N. Locust in Pittsburg, is scheduled to be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on June 28, July 12 and July 26.

Duo Capriccioso, comprised of Pittsburg State University adjunct music faculty Denissa Munguia and Director of Orchestras Raul Munguia performed “Brewtiful Tunes” at Signet Coffee Roasters on Wednesday to open the fourth day of the Pittsburg Festival of the Arts. The duo performed a variety of American, classical, and Latin American melodies on the flute and violin.

On Tuesday afternoon, Root Coffeehouse & Creperie set as the main stage for the Root’n Toot’n Jazz Combo, which featured four talented Pittsburg State University students. As a part of the Pittsburg Festival of the Arts, the band played several instruments that included drums, keyboard, bass and saxophone. Band members from left are Wayne Speer, Jude Wolfe, Evan Harries and Louie Hurtado.
