Pamela Hockett

Pamela Kay Hockett, age 70, of Gardner, Kansas, passed away Christmas morning on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at the Medicalodges Eudora.

Pam was born November 21, 1951, in Girard, Kansas, a daughter of the late Harry Lee & Betty Lou (McVey) Brunk.

Pam attended Englevale Elementary School. In 1969, she graduated from Arma High School.

On June 6, 1971, she was united in marriage to Denis Lee Hockett in Arma, Kansas.

Pam enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She would love to bless newborn babies and newlyweds with handmade quilts. She also loved to bake and surprise everyone with new flavors of homemade jelly. Every Christmas season, she and Denis would make multiple batches of Baklava with anyone willing to show up and pour the butter. Pam and Denis would also take their granddaughters to church camp every summer. Pam enjoyed attending sports activities, concerts, birthday parties, and other events for her three granddaughters.

Survivors include her husband, Denis Hockett of Gardner, Kansas; children, Jeff Hockett of Taipei, Taiwan, and Michelle Gaut and her husband Jason of Olathe, Kansas; granddaughters, Kaylee Gaut, Brianne Gaut and Mackenzie Gaut of Olathe; her brother, Randy Brunk and his wife Kimbra of Arma, Kansas, and her sister, Sandy Vinardi of Pittsburg, Kansas; her Aunt Lois and Ralph Fairman of Wichita and Uncle Jim and Gyla McVey of Fredonia; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews. Pam is preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Pam's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13, at Countryside Christian Church in Pittsburg, Kansas.
