Mary Ester

Mary Carole Ester (née White) passed away on May 24, 2024, at the age of 92 in Arvada, Colorado.

She was born on September 22, 1931, in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Mary was a loving mother with a wonderful sense of humor, her laughter could light up any room. She took pride in her children and grandchildren, cherishing their many successes.

Mary dedicated over a decade to educating young minds as a teacher in the Mapleton Public School District, specializing in 5th and 6th grade math and computer education. She was an alumna of Pittsburg State University and the University of Colorado Denver.

Outside of her career, Mary had a passion for reading and learning, often traveling with her husband and friends. She enjoyed playing and listening to the piano and volunteered as an usher at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Additionally, she generously gave her time to the Denver Center for the Blind.

Mary was a lifelong collector of Early American furniture and handmade quilts, which she shared with family.

Mary is survived by her children, Edie Hylton (Dan), Ken Ester, Kurt Ester (Laura), Mary Gill (Trent), and Julie Holmgren (Tom), and eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with her sister, Corene Stroup.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Keith F. Ester.

Mary will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May her memory be a blessing.
