James J. “Red” Rhuems, age 65, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Sunday November 5, 2023, at Via Christi, following a sudden illness.
Red was born on April 5, 1958, in Pittsburg, KS, the son of Jim Allen Rhuems and Delores (Theys) Rhuems. He has been a lifetime area resident. He worked for the City of Pittsburg as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 2020. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited. He loved outdoor activities, especially fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his mother, Delores “Dodie” Rhuems, Pittsburg, KS; one brother, Dennis Rhuems and wife Janet, Frontenac, KS; and two nieces, Breanna Rhuems, and Brilee Jackson, husband Chandler, and great-niece Laityn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Rhuems.
Red will be cremated with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
