Sandra Ellen (Castagno) Brown passed away Sunday evening April 27, 2025, in her home in Weir, KS. She was born Jan 4, 1964, to Barney Jim and Wanda Lee Castagno of Weir, KS. She is survived by husband, Johnny Brown. Son, Jake and wife Brittany Keltner, grandson Dax Keltner of Pittsburg, KS. Her mother Wanda Castagno of Weir, KS. Brother, David Castagno of Weir, KS. She is preceded in death by her father Barney Jim Castagno Sr, and brother Barney Castagno Jr. Sandy attended school at Cherokee Grade School and Southeast High School in Cherokee, KS. She was a graduate from the Pittsburg State University School of Cosmetology. She also took classes through Labette Community College and Coffeyville Community College. She worked as a hairdresser in her younger years, then went into the home health field later on for insurance while still doing some hair on the side. She started working at Pittsburg State University in 2003, then was forced to retire at the beginning of 2024 because of an illness. She enjoyed keeping a clean house and always making improvements to it. She liked working in the garden and planting flowers in the beds around her house. Sandy and John kept chickens and supplied their friends and family with eggs. She and John enjoyed taking their boat out for a cruise and casting out a line when they had the chance. She will be forever missed by her friends and family.
