Ronald D. Busse passed away on Oct. 4, 2020, at the age of 85. His cause of death was a stroke. Ronald battled numerous health issues, including prostate cancer, type 2 diabetes, and advanced Alzheimer's disease. He was born on Nov. 8, 1934, to father, Antone Busse, and mother, Nina (Hendrickson) Busse. He had two brothers, Robert and Tony, and two sisters, Virginia and Effie. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Ronald grew up in the coal mining community of 50 Camp. Robert left Kansas in 1954 for California, where he went through the Pipe Trade apprenticeship and became a pipe fitter.
In 1955, Ronald married a proud Girard, Kansas farm girl, Billie Boggio, who was attending college in California.
Billie (Boggio) Busse, age 85, passed away at her Prescott home on March 12, 2021. Billie lost her valiant four-year battle with breast cancer and acute lymphoma. Billie was the youngest of five daughters, Madeline, Lucille, Marie, and Renalde Boggio. Billie was the daughter of Appolaxine (Hiersoux) and William Boggio. Billie was preceded in death by both her parents, siblings, and husband.
Billie and Ronald had one child, Roni Marie. They lived in Downey, California, until retirement, then retired in Prescott, Arizona, and loved their Prescott home, friends, and community.
On July 15, 2022, both Ronald and Billie were lain to rest at the Girard Cemetery. Billie has a second burial site at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park Cemetery in Kaneohe, Hawaii, as were her wishes. Valley of the Temples was a meaningful place to Billie. She visited it numerous times when visiting her daughter, who lives in Hawaii. The serenity and peace she felt there left an indelible mark she never forgot.
Ronald and Billie Busse are survived by their daughter, Roni Marie, their grandson Brian Rochester and numerous nieces and nephews who are residents in Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Illinois, and California.
