John G. Fenoglio, age 76 of Pittsburg, entered his heavenly home on Jan. 14, 2025, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He lived every day to the fullest and with a smile until the very end.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1948, to the union of Emilio and Marie (Cuder) Fenoglio. He graduated from Pittsburg High School with the Class of 1966. He joined the Army out of high school then went on to work for the City of Pittsburg, was a self-employed carpenter and was a landlord of several properties.
He was a jack of all trades and could have a conversation with you about any topic you could think of. His patience and attention to detail made every project he tackled a masterpiece. He enjoyed the simple things in life and never missed listening to Pitt State football on the radio. Above all, his kind and caring heart is what will be missed most by those who loved him. He always thought of others above himself and was always looking for ways to encourage and care for those around him.
He is survived by Marcia Murry and many other special friends that he considered family, his dog Lucy and his favorite checker opponent, Evan Buerge, who lovingly gave him the title of “Uncle John” that he treasured dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Andy Fenoglio.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS.
One of John’s favorite things to do was visit Lakeside Park and have picnics with Marcia and fish. He had many fond memories of Lakeside as a young boy as well.
Memorial contributions can be made to the House of Prayer Church; these may be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway Pittsburg, KS 66762.
