Jeffry K. Neer, 66, passed away March 8, 2025, at his home.
Jeff had spent the last portion of his life in Wichita. Prior to that, he had lived in Prairie Village many years after leaving Pittsburg.
He graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1977. Following graduated, je attended Pittsburg State University receiving a B.S. and master's in psychology. He then moved to Prairie Village with family and attended Avala University and received an MBA in marketing.
Jeff married Maresa Monsour in 1980 and divorced after 30 years. He later married Tamra Stobart and was married 10 years before divorce.
Jeff loved being an alumnus of Pitt State and avidly followed all aspects of the University, especially gorilla football. His other two great passions were Scouting and the Order of DeMolay, having achieved the highest honors possible in both. As an adult, Jeff was a District Commissioner for Scouting and a Chapter Advisor for De Molay because of his passion to work with and develop youth.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Neer (Mckenzie), Goddard, KS; two daughters, Jessica Neer, Wichita, and Katelyn Neer, Kansas City. Also, two grandchildren, James Neer and Payton Lair.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Carveth and Joan Neer.
Jeff was a deeply spiritual person and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Cecilia parishes.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Brenner Mortuary with Fr. Caleb Kuestersteffen officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to help with final expenses. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Friends may leave condolences online. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary.
