Jeffrey Don Leigh, 66, of Kansas City, formerly of Girard, died at 8:28 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Jeffrey was born March 24, 1959, in Girard, a son of B. Gene and Patsy (Schulte) Leigh.
Jeffrey attended school through the ninth grade in Scott City, Kansas and graduated with honors from Girard High School. He graduated from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas where he was a percussionist in the KU Marching Band. He also served as the Jayhawk mascot, Baby J, while at KU.
Jeffrey worked for Sprint in Kansas City and South Carolina. He also worked at various jobs in Kansas City. He was the manager of Intellicell in Girard and Crestline, Kansas.
Jeffrey was a member of the United Methodist Church in Girard.
Survivors include his mother, Patsy L. Leigh of Girard; a brother, Jay S. Leigh of Farlington, Kansas and his sister, Janet Ann Leigh of Ottawa, Kansas; his uncles; an aunt; numerous cousins.
Private family services will be held with inurnment in the Girard Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to C.O.F. Training Center, where Janet Leigh resides, and the United Methodist Church in Girard and these may be left at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
