Interior Design students showcase their work in KC

Posted

A group of Pittsburg State University students is making a statement in Kansas City this week. The students are seniors in PSU’s Bachelor of Science in Interior Design Program and they are exhibiting their work as part of KC Design Week.

“Hopefully there will be a lot of architects and designers who will be able to see how professional our students are,” said Denise Bertincino, Interior Design Program coordinator at PSU.

Bertincino said the fact that PSU’s Interior Design program is part of the Crossland School of Construction gives PSU graduates a unique perspective that graduates of other programs may not have.

The work the students will be exhibiting represents portfolios that the students have developed in a senior capstone class taught by Holly Page-Sagehorn.

Bertincino said the goal is to share the students’ work with the wider community and at the same time help build the PSU program’s reputation. She noted that the university’s Interior Design major has grown significantly in recent years.

The students’ work will be on exhibit from 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at Working Spaces, 215 E. 18thStreet, Suite 11, in Kansas City, Mo. The event is free, but KC Design Week requests registration at kcdesignweek.org.
