Like educators in every school building, in these days leading up to a new school year, Katy Brown is busy getting her room ready before the students arrive. A school counselor for 10 years, Brown is in a new school this fall, so that means there are lots of things she needs – things that normally she’d be paying for out of her own pocket.
That’s why Brown was especially excited, Wednesday, when her name was drawn for a $500 prize earmarked specifically for school supplies.
