Danny Ray Edwards, 80, of Arma, Kansas died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025, at his home.
Mr. Edwards was born Dec. 26, 1944, at Pittsburg, Kansas the son of Marion Francis and Gladys Adel Hamilton Edwards. Dan was a retired printer for Ace Forms for 25 years. He also worked for Oasis Car Wash after he retired. He had been a resident of Arma for the past 35 years. He was raised in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School in the Class of 1962. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Jolene Kumer of March 8, 1991, in Columbus, Kansas. Mrs. Edwards survives at the home. He was a member of the Living Faith of the Nazarene Church at Girard, he was active in the Relay for Life, the Lon Helm Post #182 American Legion in Arma and was Past Commander, and the Girard American Legion. Survivors include his wife Jolene of the home, a daughter, Jodi Schmidt of Arma, a son, Jeremy Allen of Pittsburg, five grandchildren, Hayden and Peyton Allen, Blake Schmidt, Brendan (Taylor) Schmidt, and Claire Schmidt, two sisters, Carolyn Campbell of Atchinson, Kansas and Patricia Junk of Pittsburg and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Richard (Bud) Edwards.
Mr. Edwards has been cremated according to his wishes. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas with Chaplain Derek Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday prior to the services at 11 a.m. Private burial of the cremains will be at a later date at the National Cemetery at Ft. Scott, Kansas.
