Chris E. Geier, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 73.

Born on December 14, 1949, in Pittsburg, Kansas, he was the son of Floyd and Lucille (Tessmer) Geier. In 1967 Chris graduated from College High in Pittsburg and went on to work as a brick mason for most of his career. He was also a florist at one time and retired from TAMKO in 2003.

On March 20, 1993, he married the love of his life, Denise Gerken, at the Timmons Chapel in Pittsburg. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, cherished memories, and lots of travel. Puerto Vallarta was a special place with many vacations spent there. Chris was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing as much and as long as he was able. His true passion was cooking. He loved to cook for others and was known for his culinary skills. His dishes were always a hit, and he took great pride in making others happy through his cooking.

Surviving Chris is his wife, Denise, of the home; a daughter, Lori Hixon and her husband, Mike, of Ft. Scott, Kansas; a grandson, Clayton Hixon, and his wife, Alyssa; and a great-grandchild, Wrenley Hixon of Pittsburg, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Chris will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. Chris will be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Joplin, MO. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS. Chris will be remembered for his kind heart, generous spirit, and his passion for cooking. May he rest in peace.
