Brenda Lee Deringer, 69 of Pittsburg, KS passed away surrounded by her family on Aug. 21, 2024, after a long battle with cancer. 

She was born Nov. 18, 1954, in Harington, KS.

The daughter of William Arthur and Carol Lee (Brouhard) Humphreys.

She attended School in Shawnee Mission, Kansas and graduated there with the class of 1972. 

Brenda worked for Downing Automotive as an administrative assistant. She also worked at Holiday Lanes, Bobs Grill, Millers, Dollar General, and Mirza Shrine making lasting friendships along the way. 

She was a longtime member of the South Broadway Baptist Church.

Survivors include Jason (Stephanie) Deringer of Pleasant Hill, MO, Jeremy (Lindsay) Deringer of Frontenac, KS; her mother Carol Humphreys-Troop of Pittsburg, KS a brother Terry (Cathy) Humphreys of Sedalia, MO; a sister Pamela (Rex) Terry of Pittsburg; seven grandchildren: Madison, Caden, Mason, Gracie, Rilynn, Parker and Brenlee along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father and a sister Gayla Kurtz. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 26, 2024, at the South Broadway Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Moss officiating.  Following the service she will be taken for cremation. Her cremains will be interred at the Frontenac City Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home.  Memorials may be left to the Susan G.
