Billy Joe Bridgewater

Posted

We are sad to announce the passing of Billy Joe Bridgewater, 59, who passed away peacefully on Jan. 8, 2025, at his home in Arcadia, KS.

Born on May 7, 1965, to devoted parents William “Dave” and Carol (Hencey) Bridgewater, Billy Joe lived his life wholeheartedly, surrounded by his family and friends.

Billy Joe attended Arma High School and graduated in 1983. He went on to have a successful career as a Heavy Machinery Operator, retiring early, due to a back injury. Furthermore, Billy Joe’s additional passions lay outside of his work.

In his free time, Billy Joe could often be found fishing, mushroom hunting, shooting guns/bows, riding motorcycles, off roading, working on vehicles/machines or collecting arrowheads and fossils. He found joy and peace in nature, and these hobbies brought him much solace throughout his life.

Unfortunately, Billy Joe’s journey came to an end early due to complications from illnesses. Our fond memories and his love and care for others will forever remain in our hearts.

Billy Joe is survived by his adored five children: Tabitha Faucett (Matt) of Pittsburg, KS, Leah Bridgewater of Girard, KS, David Bridgewater (Lanie) of Chicopee, KS, Rebekah Bridgewater, and Peyton Bridgewater of Girard, KS. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren; Paisleigh, Pearson and Kannon.

His sister, Carla, survives at the home.

Billy Joe will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him, but his memory will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Dad.
