Betty Jane (Throm) Waxler entered the gates of Heaven on February 1, 2024.
Betty was born on October 22, 1925 to Paul and Bernice (Hittle) Throm in Blue Rapids, KS. She graduated high school in 1944 and in June 1944 married the love of her life, Allen Dayle Waxler. They were married 59 years before his death on June 18, 2003.
Betty had worked at the Egg Plant and the Boat Factory in Blue Rapids, KS, Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons, KS, and she babysat numerous children.
Survivors include her daughters, Pam (Norris) Hoobler of Maple Hill, KS, and Dayna Herring of Braymer, MO; a son, Wyatt (Peggy) Waxler of Winchester, KY; five grandchildren, Stacy Hoobler, Marc Hoobler, Amanda Waxler, Josh Herring, and Cody Herring; and six great-grandchildren, Aaron Hoobler, Adam Hoobler, Evan Hoobler, Dalton Herring, Chase Herring, and Natalie Crawford.
Her faith in the Lord was steadfast and never wavering. It was her greatest gift to her children and her family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Brenner Mortuary with Pastor Jim Fryer officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, KS. Memorial contributions can be made to the Independent Bible Baptist Church in Pittsburg, KS, and/or the St. Mary's Manor in St. Mary's, Ks. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
