Betty Jean (Barto) Close, passed away in Shawnee, Kansas on January 27, 2024.
Betty was born September 1, 1931, in Yale, Kansas, and grew up in Frontenac where she graduated high school.
She married David E. Close from Pittsburg on November 19, 1949. David preceded her in death in 2005.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Barto, her infant sister, Mary Ann, and her sister, Peggy Barto.
She is survived by her son, David Close of Arma, KS; daughter, Marianne Kerr (Ron Kerr); and grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, and Travis Close as well as Eric Kerr and Kaylee Kerr along with several great-grandchildren.
There were no services per the request of her caretaker, Eric, and she was laid to rest next to her husband, mother and father, and sister in The Garden of Memories in Pittsburg, Kansas.
