Woman arrested for alleged theft from Cherokee County water district

CRESTLINE, Kan. — A Missouri woman was arrested over the weekend after a contractor caught her allegedly attempting to steal property from the Cherokee County Rural Water District. 

Shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday, Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to an area east of Crestline, where a contractor was holding Emily Clark, 43, of Purcell, Missouri, at gunpoint after discovering her allegedly attempting to steal property from the water district. 

Clark was taken to the Cherokee County Jail on allegations of felony theft and criminal trespass, where she remained Monday in lieu of $3,000 bond.
